Among the various subdomains of artificial intelligence, machine learning takes a lot of attention from the technology world and beyond.
How it promises to bring revolutions in many industries, among other things, there have been common misconceptions and myths created around this powerful technology.
Here are five common myths about machine learning that you might still believe, and it’s the time to uncover the truth behind these baseless myths.
One of the most prevalent myths circling around machine learning is that it’s going to be a replacement tool for humans, as robots and algorithms are going to replace human workers.
Truth be told, there might be automation of a few processes that would definitely streamline things. The truth is actually far more nuanced, though.
Reality: It’s not about replacing humans but augmenting them. Ultimately, the purpose is to empower humans to perform at an optimum level and make decisions much more accurately.
For example, in healthcare, machine learning algorithms can help doctors diagnose diseases by analyzing medical images and patient data, thereby reducing the risk of human error.
