Good morning, AI enthusiasts! There’s been a lot of exciting stuff happening in ‘real-world AI’ in the last few weeks. The last few weeks have seen a massive increase in the number of open source releases with DBRX, Jamba, Qwen1.5, Samba-CoE v0.2, Starling-LM-7B-beta, xAI’s Grok 1.5, Mistral’s 7B v2, Wild 1-bit and 2-bit quantization with HQQ+, Llama 3, and now Phi-3. This is quite exciting for everyone in AI, especially our community. I’m trying to keep up with it all, but I would love to hear your thoughts on this shift of focus towards the open models.

In our ‘Learn AI Together’ parallel universe, some exciting things are happening this week, with interesting projects and opportunities, a slightly different and nostalgic poll, and, of course, the hands-on tutorials and blogs.

Laetitiadelbanio has launched a startup focused on neuro-symbolic AGI. HybridAGI is a Programmable LLM-based Autonomous Agent that lets you program its behavior using a graph-based prompt programming approach. It can self-refine its own prompt automatically and remember its programs, can execute, or modify them dynamically. If you are curious about LLMs and AGI, check this project out on GitHub.

AI poll of the week!

Sometimes, it is nice to go back to where it all began. We are inviting you to vote and think about the beginnings and are so excited to hear fun stories and anecdotes about what got you into AI! Share your journey in the thread!

Also, we know we might not respond to each one of you, but please know we read everything, and your messages are a huge source of fuel for us.

Collaboration Opportunities

The Learn AI Together Discord community is flooding with collaboration opportunities. If you are excited to dive into applied AI, want a study partner, or even want to find a partner for your passion project, join the collaboration channel! Keep an eye on this section, too — we share cool opportunities every week!

1. Uknowwhoab1r is looking for a team of people to build a global scalable product. He is currently working on a Code Pattern Analyst, a specialized tool designed with GPT-4 to dissect precisely and recognize design patterns within C/C++ and JavaScript code sniision. If this seems like an interesting collaboration, connect with him in the thread!

2. Naphkamina is looking for someone with a bachelor’s in CS, Math, or a related field to develop an educational method in perceptual illustration mnemonics. If this is relevant to you, reach out to them in the thread!

3. Proj3ctg is seeking someone with good prompt engineering, AI, and Python skills. For details on the project, contact them in the thread!
