How to Make Your Data Science Application Stand Out

Nowadays, many people want to be a data scientist. It’s a pretty cool job where you build algorithms, carry out in-depth analyses, and are able to work for a wide range of businesses.

However, with this increasing supply, it’s making it harder and harder for prospective people to break into the field. Not to mention the current difficult climate tech is in right now with all the layoffs happening.

In this article, I want to explain to you several ways you can make your data science application stand out to employers and interviewers. I believe doing this extra 20% of effort will get you ahead of 80% of people.

I do want to stress that doing these things won’t automatically land you that dream job, but they will help and give you an edge over other applicants!

Obviously, I am quite biased, but having a blog is one of the easiest ways to stand out. Your blog hasn’t got to be “groundbreaking.” If you look at my profile, most of the posts are about fundamental statistical and data science concepts. I discuss probability distributions, bayesian statistics, and the theory behind machine learning algorithms.
