Groq, the speedy LLM inference provider, has recently announced their first-ever AI-based development tool — called AppGen — and it could prove to be a very useful little utility.
AppGen is like a very cut-down, mini version of the popular AI coding assistant tools you’re probably familiar with. Think Cursor AI, Windsurf, etc .. and you’ll get the idea.
In this article, we’ll explore the new tool, explain how to obtain it, and provide some examples of its use.
If you haven’t heard of Groq before, I’ll leave a link at the end of this article to a piece I wrote a while back that provides a good description of the company and its work.
The short version, though, is that Groq is a technology company focused on developing hardware and software solutions to accelerate machine learning and artificial intelligence computations. It is known for creating highly efficient processing units optimized for tasks such as deep learning and rapid LLM inference, which are key technologies behind the development and operation of LLMs.
Additionally, they provide free access (within certain limits) to many top-of-the-range open-source LLMs.
AppGen can be run locally or in… Read the full blog for free on Medium.
