Claude 3.7 captured the underlying Quantum Physics and the results were amazing!
I was excited about the release of Claude 3.7 Sonnet from Anthropic. I had already tested the coding abilities of Claude 3.5 for quantum chemistry applications (sorry no article on that 🙁 ) and was impressed! But I am even more excited about the recent launch of our new quantum computing backend Starmon-7 on Quantum Inspire. I didn’t use Claude code and the command line interface but accessed the Calude 3.7 sonnet free model via https://claude.ai/
With Gemini code assist, Github co-pilot and Claude code-assist trending worldwide, I was curious to see how Clause 3.7 would perform at quantum coding tasks!
So I asked Claude 3.7 to write three quantum programs for a real quantum computer.
Quantum Device: I used the superconducting transmon-based 7-qubit Starmon-7 backend freely available to everyone via the Quantum Inspire platform.
At the end of this article I have shared the Jupyter notebook that can be directly used to run the code on real quantum hardware → free and with no wait time (at the moment).
