I have read the 290-page Future of Jobs Report 2025 by the World Economic Forum (WEF), and in this article, I’m sharing my highlights from the first 90 pages. This report provides a deep dive into how the job market will evolve by 2030, and I plan to write another abstract addressing AI-driven transformation.

I highly recommend staying tuned for that — and also taking a close look at the second half of the report, which covers country-specific insights. If you live in, or plan to move to, a different country in the next five years, those sections are crucial.

Now, let’s break down the overall key points at once.

By 2030, macrotrend-driven job creation and displacement are expected to amount to 22% of today’s total jobs. New job creation is estimated at 170 million jobs (14% of current employment), offset by the displacement of 92 million jobs (8% of current employment), resulting in a net growth of 78 million jobs (7% of total employment).
