When I was interviewing for my current job as a Data Analyst, web scraping was the top skill that set me apart. I knew the other candidates well, as we were all in the same cohort of a program that aims to connect international companies with African talent.The employment program participants included individuals of various specialties. Their skills ranged from Graphics and UI/UX Design to Full-Stack Web Development and Business Operations. My specialty was data analysis. We had to complete a group assignment. There were two teams of five data analysts. My team had to build a cost-of-living analysis application for cities worldwide. My claim to fame within the group was playing a key role in accessing the data to drive the app. The other team had data given to them; they only needed to visualize it in a dashboard.
