Machine Learning models can be divided into Discriminative and Generative:
Discriminative models are used in traditional Data Science use cases. Usually, the model learns how to predict the target based on the distribution of the features. Weβre talking about classification and regression algorithms that can be formulated as Prob(YU+007CX)Generative models, instead, look at the joint distribution of the target and the features to generate new data instances. Thatβs what is now being called βAIβ. Mathematically can be expressed as Prob(X,Y)
