Rarely us humans witness a technology that pushes our knowledge boundaries by months, or even years.
Some would argue that ChatGPT has brought to us things that were not expected until the end of the decade.
But now, Google Deepmind has announced GNoMe, which purportedly pushes them not years, but centuries.
800 years to be exact.
Published in the prestigious Nature magazine, and leveraging a fascinating field that is growing in applications at insane speeds, Graph Neural Networks, Google has leveraged AI to scale scientific material discovery at inhuman speeds, opening us to the potential discovery of new superconductors, new elements to power supercomputers, or next-generation batteries to boost the efficiency of electric vehicles.
