Super Bowl LX is the first time foundation models and AI assistants were simultaneously the product, the message, and part of the underlying infrastructure of the event, and that gives us an unusually clear signal on how the LLM ecosystem is maturing.
This time the AI companies also buying the most expensive ad slots on earth and arguing with each other in front of 100‑plus million people.
Super Bowl LX demonstrated the increasing integration of AI into mainstream events, showcasing AI companies not only through advertisements but as central infrastructure components. The event highlighted contrasting business models within the AI sector, particularly between Anthropic and OpenAI, raising critical questions about trust and monetization strategies in AI deployment.
