The march of artificial intelligence has reignited an age-old fear: will smart machines take our jobs?
In one corner are the AGI doomers, who warn that a truly general AI could replace virtually all human labor, driving wages to zero and economies into collapse.
In the opposite corner are the techno-optimists, who argue that AI will behave more like a powerful tractor or spreadsheet — automating routine tasks while creating new opportunities and raising productivity.
