2024 is shaping up to be the year of agents. A lot of companies are now experimenting with AI agents, tools like MultiOn have grown by connecting agents to outside websites, and frameworks like LangGraph and LlamaIndex Workflows are helping developers build structured agents.

Salesforce recently released AgentForce at their Dreamforce conference in in San Francisco. ServiceNow and HubSpot have similarly introduced their AI agents, all promising game changing task automations and improved customer experiences. At the same time, an increasing number of startups are using these agents to deliver improved ROI to their customers.

Yet, despite their popularity within the AI ecosystem, agents have yet to fully demonstrate their promised return on investment (ROI) in the broader enterprise world.
