I’ve always been fond of the songs by Francesco De Gregori, one of the most famous Italian songwriters, who can be considered a local Bob Dylan’s epigone. In June 1982, when I was just about one year old, he released a concept album called Titanic, in which the 1912 disaster was used as a metaphor for the situation of society and of his country at the time — I’m tempted to say neither has changed much since then.
