Midjourney v6 — Deep Dive into sref with Ukiyo-e

Explore the transformative power of Midjourney v6’s — sref with Ukiyo-e, blending traditional Japanese art with futuristic themes for stunning AI-generated visuals.

In my earlier article on Ukiyo-e, I explored various prompts with the art style to play with both traditional styles, bring in more modern themes, and add the art style to them. In this article, I am going to take you deeper by showing you how to use the new v6 style reference images command –sref to apply the style of an image you like to your prompt output.

To use it, use the –sref [URL of style image] at the end of your prompt. If you have created the image in Midjourney, if it is still in a quad, upscale it. Then, left-click to expand the image, right-click to copy the link, and put it at the end of your sref on the prompt.

For our cases below, let’s say you made these following two images using the prompt “Ukiyo-e illustrations of advanced robotics and androids in historical Japanese settings” and they were ok. Still, you decide that the style feels a bit “dull,” this is where –sref comes in. You can take that prompt and add style influence from… Read the full blog for free on Medium.
