Researchers at McGill University’s Faculty of Medicine studied gender identity using a machine learning algorithm, fMRI, and behavioral data and discovered at least nine gender expressions.

Human-created terminology for explaining and studying our brain may be at odds with how these constructs are represented in nature.

In many human societies, for example, the “male” or “female” box on the birth certificate is checked when a baby is born.
